The DVD version (for United States and Canada) of a 2001 performance of Verdi's Falstaff with Juan Diego Florez as Fenton and Barbara Frittoli as Alice was released on November 18, 2003, and can be ordered from The performance, at the small Teatro Verdi in Busseto, Italy, featured sets and costumes recreated from a performance of 1913.

My personal favorite recording of Falstaff stars Geraint Evans in the title role, with Ilva Ligabue, Mirella Freni, Alfredo Kraus, Robert Merrill, and Giulietta Simionato, and the RCA Italiana Opera Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Georg Solti.  I enjoy hearing a British singer in the role of Falstaff, and the rest of the cast is outstanding.
