| Reviewing a July 10, 2001, performance of Massenet's Manon with the Opéra de Paris, Stephen Mudge wrote in the October 2001 Opera News: "The handsome South American tenor gave a magnificent performance, gently caressing the "Rêve," despite less than perfect ensemble with the orchestra, and effectively pulling out all the vocal stops in the St.-Sulpice scene. His lightly accented French was clear, and he fully deserved one of the biggest ovations of the season." |
